Quick Start Guide
Creating Your First Story
- Open the Bedtime Fantasy app
- Enter your child's name
- Enter your child's age (1-18)
- Select gender (Boy/Girl/Other)
- Choose a story genre (Adventure, Fairy Tale, Fantasy, etc.)
- Tap "Generate Story"
- On first use, you'll be prompted to sign in with Apple
- Your personalized story will appear with beautiful illustrations!
Listening to Stories
- After generating a story, tap "Read Story" to start narration
- Use the pause button to pause at any time
- Use resume to continue from where you paused
- Use stop to end the reading
- Images change automatically as the story progresses
- 10 beautiful images will display throughout the story

Common Questions
Q: Why do I need to sign in with Apple?
A: Apple Sign In is required only when generating your first story. After that, you can generate unlimited stories without additional authentication. Your privacy is protected by Apple - we don't create accounts or store your data on servers.
Q: Can I generate multiple stories?
A: Yes! You can generate unlimited stories. Simply go back to the main screen and create a new story with different details or genres.
Q: How long are the stories?
A: Stories vary in length based on the genre and age selected. Typically, stories are designed to be 2-5 minutes when read aloud. The narration speed is optimized for bedtime reading.
Q: How many images are shown per story?
A: Each story displays exactly 10 beautiful images that change as the story progresses. Images are automatically synchronized with the narration.
Q: Can I pause and resume story narration?
A: Yes! You can pause the story at any time using the pause button, and resume whenever you're ready. You can also stop the story completely.
Q: Do I need internet to use the app?
A: After the first sign-in, the app works completely offline! All story generation, images, and text-to-speech happen locally on your device. No internet connection required.
Q: Is my data private?
A: Absolutely! All story generation happens on your device. We don't collect, upload, or have access to any story content, child names, or personal information. No cloud sync, no servers, no tracking.
Q: Can I customize the voice or reading speed?
A: The app uses iOS built-in text-to-speech with optimized settings for natural bedtime story narration. The voice and speed are preset for the best listening experience.
Q: What age range is this app for?
A: Stories can be generated for children ages 1-18. The app is designed for parents and guardians to create personalized bedtime stories for their children.
Troubleshooting
🚫 Can't Generate Story
Solutions:
- Make sure you've entered a child's name (cannot be empty)
- Verify the age is between 1 and 18
- On first use, make sure to complete Apple Sign In when prompted
- If sign-in was canceled, try generating again and complete sign-in
- Restart the app if issues persist
🔇 No Sound During Story Reading
Solutions:
- Check your device volume settings
- Make sure your device isn't on silent mode
- Check that your device speakers or headphones are working
- Try stopping and restarting the story
- Make sure other apps aren't using the audio system
🖼️ Images Not Showing
Solutions:
- Images appear as the story is read - wait for narration to start
- Images change automatically throughout the story (10 images total)
- Make sure the story is actually playing (not paused)
- Try generating a new story if images don't appear
- Restart the app if images consistently don't load
⚠️ Story Reading Too Fast or Too Slow
Solutions:
- The reading speed is optimized for natural bedtime story narration
- Stories are designed to be 2-5 minutes in duration
- Use the pause button if you need to slow down
- Each story's duration is calculated automatically based on content length
🔐 Sign In Issues
Solutions:
- Make sure you're connected to the internet for the first sign-in
- Check that you're signed into iCloud on your device
- Verify Apple Sign In capability is enabled for your Apple ID
- If sign-in fails, try again - you only need to sign in once
- After first sign-in, you can use the app offline
